Deeper Final Conference

The final conference of DEEPER Project will be held in September the 15th and 16th 2011 in Bruxelles, salle "Le Maalbeek" - 97, rue du Cornet.
The Draft Agenda is available for download.
The results of the Project will be presented highlighting the results of experimentation for the training of the trainers dealing with refugees and asylum seekers.
A session will be completely dedicated to the debate among the stakeholders from Belgium, Spain and Italy. It will be a further chance to enlarge the comparison about experiences and innovative training practices addressed to the Project's target.

Meeting: “Quando il medico parla arabo”

Last June-30-2011, at Palazzo Valentini in Rome, was held a meeting titled: “Quando il medico parla arabo- il riconoscimento delle qualifiche dei titolari di protezione internazionale”. Meeting showed project Pro.Ri.Ti.S. results about skills recognition in legal and policies ambit.

June-21-2011, at the Palace of the Provincia di Roma, Dida participated at research presentation meeting: “il diritto alla protezione”. The reseach, presents a study on actual situation of asylum syistem in Italy and presents new features for evolution of system. Was distributed to participants brochure and other dissemination materials about Deeper project.

Last May-13-2011 was held in Catania a meeting between participants to DRIVE-Referral Project. DRIVE-Referral aims the identification and referral of boat people at arrival in Mediterranean. At participants was showed DEEPER Project as a good practice for acceptance and integration in the host country

DEEPER: Pilot Run – Third meeting with trainers

Last Aprill-18-2011 was held in Verona a meeting with trainers of refugees and asylum seekers. Meeting was join participated from trainers that contributed at debate development about VET and linguistic training of refugees and asylum seekers, each one with personal effort. Trainers will contribute to keep alive virtual community of Deeper Project.

May- 4, 5 and 6-2011 DIDA participated at Didamatica 2011 explaining Deeper project and distributing dissemination materials as brochure and other informative documents. June-22-2011 DIDA participated to EDEN 2011, with a paper titled: “On Line Interactions and Learning Ecosystems. A Complex Learning Experience”. At the conference was distributed dissemination materials of the project.

Deeper Final Conference

Pilot run - meeting in Catania

The next February 18, 2011 will be held in Catania the second meeting with the trainers of refugees and asylum seekers. The Municipality of Catania, project partner, has organized also a meeting during which it will introduce the project and its aims.

Deeper as an example of the fight against poverty and social exclusion

The National Agency LLP - Leonardo da Vinci - will prepare an analysis report in which will be presented the relevance of the funded projects compared to the issue of the fight against poverty and social exclusion. Deeper project has been selected to be included in this Report to be submitted to the European Commission. The next 3rd February 2011 will be recorded an interview by the project coordinator with the Italian partners. The interview will be included into a CD that came with the Report.

WP4 - trainers first meeting

Will be held in Rome at the ITC Lombardo Radice, the first meeting with the trainers to refugees. The purpose of the meeting will be to introduce trainers into the Trainers Deeper Community, the second circle of the online Deeper community, reserved just for trainers to refugees.

"Scuole Migranti" Network

A cooperation protocol was signed between the Deeper project and the "Scuole Migranti". The "Scuole Migranti" is a network which connects some of the most important Italian schools for migrants, working within the voluntary associations and private social organizations acting in Rome. The agreement provides the collaboration of the trainers in the Deeper community network.

Conference participation

A representation of DEEPER partners participate took part in the meeting "Quale insegnamento dell'italiano nella nuova società interculturale" (Which italian teaching in the new intercultural society), organized by the Migrants Schools network, which was held Nov. 23 at ITIS Galileo Galileo in Rome.

Pilot run

Pilot run set up have started. The purpose of this effort is to create three courses with integrated methods (traditional, distance learning, etc.) involving a group of refugees trainers. At the same time it will be possible to test not only the methodology, but also contents, materials and tools.

Deeper community

The second stage of the Deeper online community building and valorisation process was launched in October. The Community is intended to be an organic space for complex learning. In this first phase was formed the first circle of the community, which brings together the experts of the partnership. Soon the community will be enlarged to trainers participating to the pilot. Next 22-23 September 2010 will take place in Seville the II KOM of the project. Among the issues to be addressed: the closing of WP2 activities and WP3 activities programming. In that occasion the meeting will be preset platform for collaborative work, created by Dida following the instructions of Complex Learning

WP2 - Second focus group

On July 19th was held in Rome the second focus group on on similar issues, but this time involving private social organizations operating in the territory as associations of trainers for refugees and asylum seekers. This second Italian event was organized by Dida with the collaboration of all others Italian partners, and it comes after the focus group organized in Spain by Incoma.

On July 5th, has been held in Rome the first of two focus groups organized by the project partners. In this first meeting, aimed at focusing the critical factors in the existing relationship between trainers and refugees, some institutional actors have taken part, which are active in the territory since many years.

Consortium in the first phase of work identified the Deeper guidelines and best practices. They will be the starting point for the evolution of the project and will soon be published on the project site.

Brainstorming document

Consortium intends to uniform the working method through the dissemination of information on the reference model, to share standard and the working procedures, the operational planning and the roles and duties assignment. The activities aim to the knowledge and experience transfer.

WP1 in progress

The WP1 - Knowledge Transfer, is in progress. The activities aim to the knowledge and experience transfer, regarding both past experience held in the national contest, both specific project results. Knowledge that will be transferred are: presentation of experiences in, the local context; projects's results and presentation of existing products; familiarization with research results and products;presentation of knowledge and experiences related to DEEPER; brainstorming on material adaptation needs for the transfer of projects.
